You might have noticed this problem if you live in San Mateo, and Northern Santa Clara area. I noticed a large amount landing on the cars in our office parking lot in San Mateo, and Northern Santa Clara, so I took a few samples and found a few different insects. The smaller one looks to be an Argentine Ant with wings. the slightly larger insect is the March Fly, and the biggest insect with wings twice as long as the body turned out to be a Subterranean Termite. It is common for this time of the year. A good general yard spray will help to keep these insects from settling in your yard. |
